Fishing Fun Contest

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park will co-host a youth fishing event at the Cushwa Basin, Williamsport, MD. The Cushwa Basin will be stocked with native fish, blue gill, through Maryland Department Natural of Resources for the Fishing Fun Contest co-sponsored by the park and Williamsport Rotary. The event will be held on June 2 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. After the event, the basin will be opened up to the community for fishing.

The park's Interdisciplinary Team reviewed the project for impacts to natural and cultural resources. The project does not pose any serious or long-term effects to the environmental, historical, cultural, archeological, or visual resources. It meets categorical exclusion #D.2 – Minor changes in programs and regulations pertaining to visitor activities.
