Upper Salt Creek trail markers
Canyonlands National Park » Upper Salt Creek trail markers
Visitors and park employees have lost their way while attempting to cross this marshy area, and have ended up on the opposite side of the main canyon from the trail, or have spent time bush whacking off trail trying to relocate the trail. Keeping hikers on trails is both a safety issue and a resource protection issue.
To mark the trail, the park proposes to place 2-3 posts in the marshy area, along desired route of travel. Proposed material is cedar posts with a blaze. Impact to visitor would be minimal.
