Ahwahnee Hotel, Replace Sweet Shop Cash Wrap to Meet ADA Standards (Y4-610)

Yosemite National Park » Ahwahnee Hotel, Replace Sweet Shop Cash Wrap to Meet ADA Standards (Y4-610) » Document List

The purpose of this project is to achieve three goals:

1. To correct ADA deficiency of the height of the Ahwahnee Sweet Shop Cash Wrap Counter, making the counter the 36" compliant height.
2. To add/return the "Sweet" back into the "Sweet Shop, " by adding a matching refrigerated candy counter.
3. Eliminate the ADA deficient narrow aisle to the magazines area by adding a 36" wide x 12" deep counter that will meet the inside door jam (remaining 4" back from the doorway).
All additions will match the original décor, architecture, look, wood-grain, wood-stain, and trim as found in a photo (pg. 88) that is published in the book titled "Images of America Yosemite Valley." The photo was provided courtesy of the Yosemite Museum. This Counter will be mobile (NOT permanent), and will be placed in the exact same location of the existing counter with the addition of the 36" x 12" section that will meet the inner door jam.
