The National Park Service is pleased to announce the availability of the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Development of Outdoor Athletic Fields and Food Service Facility
within the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area.

The Environmental Assessment has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the National Historic Preservation Act, Director's Order 12, and regulations of the Council on Environmental Quality.

The National Park Service considers public involvement to be an important component to a successful planning and implementation process, and we invite you to furnish comments on this document. As of April 25, 2006 the EA will be available for review in hard copy at the Ryan Visitor Center, Floyd Bennett Field, Gateway National Recreation Area, Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn NY, and on the World Wide Web in two places: at http://www.nps.gov/gate, and the NPS Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website at http://parkplanning.nps.gov (select Gateway National Recreation Area from the park pull-down menu).
