Demo of 1960s home and Installation of RV Pads on Park Property

George Washington Birthplace NM » Demo of 1960s home and Installation of RV Pads on Park Property

George Washington Birthplace National Monument (GEWA) proposed to install two RV pads within a one-acre tract of land acquired in 2022. The house is a circa-1960, one-story, seven-bay dwelling constructed in the Ranch style. This building was determined Not Eligible for inclusion into the National Register of Historic Places in 2026 by the Department of Historic Resources.

GEWA proposes to demo the building and install two RV pads at this location. Having RV pads such as these will help with long-term volunteers in the park. In an effort to minimize ground disturbance associated with this project, the demo team will be required to use protecting matting in all locations that have the potential archeological deposits.
