NPS Alaska Parks Proposed Section 106 Programmatic Agreement

The National Park Service (NPS) invites public consultation with review of and comment on a Programmatic Agreement (PA) between the NPS Interior Region 11 - Alaska and the Alaska State Historic Preservation Officer (AK SHPO).
The draft PA was developed, in keeping with the NPS 2008 Nationwide Programmatic Agreement, in consultation with NPS staff, AK SHPO, Tribes, other interested parties, and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.
The proposed PA will provide parks the ability to streamline Section 106 reviews for certain types of activities that have a low potential to affect historic properties. See draft PA Stipulation IV that describes those activities.
