General Management Plan for Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site

The National Park Service is posting Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site's foundation document for public information. Hopewell Furnace's General Management Plan (GMP)is in planning stages. This is the park's first General Management Plan and will guide the park's management actions for the next several decades. This foundation document is the first document of its kind that has been issued separate from the General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement. It has been issued separately because the National Park Service feels that the topics included herein will not change regardless of the choice of alternatives within the GMP. The foundation document is titled Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site Foundation for Planning and Management. Topics it covers include park purpose and significance statements, park interpretive themes, park mission goals and analysis of fundamental park resources including threats to resources.
