The photo on the left shows the existing conditions: a gray-colored tower with two large round microwave drums and solar panels on it. There is a white shed under the tower, between the tower legs. The photo on the right shows the same photograph modified to show the project proposal. The white shed has been removed, and a gray shed is to the right of the tower.

Mormon Peak Microwave Facility Plan

Death Valley National Park » Mormon Peak Microwave Facility Plan » Document List

Death Valley National Park is reviewing a right-of-way permit application for continued operation and maintenance of an existing microwave relay facility on Mormon Peak.

AT&T's right-of-way application also requests permission to add a lightning rod, increase the size of the solar panels, and replace the battery and equipment shelter. This will allow the bandwidth of the facility to increase from 90 mbps to 1.5 Gbps.

Mormon Peak is not a cell tower, but it provides backhaul connection for all landline and cellular telephones in Death Valley.
