In accordance with the "Commemorative Works on Public Space Amendment Act of 2000" (DC Law 13-275) the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission (Commission) reviews DC commemorative works applications. While such a review is not required by the Commemorative Works Act (40 U.S. Code, Chapter 89) which established the Commission, it has been the practice of the Commission to review referred projects during its public meetings.
