Grazing Exclosures

Bering Land Bridge National Preserve » Grazing Exclosures » Document List

The National Park Service will install a set of 18 grazing exclosure fences in Bering Land Bridge National Preserve. The area is eligible (but not designated) wilderness. They will remain for 30 to 50 years with paired vegetation plots (inside and outside the grazing exclosures) monitored every 10 years. The results will give the managers who are in charge of issuing reindeer grazing permits the "endpoints" of the grazing effects spectrum, that is, data of the most grazed and leased grazed reindeer range.
