New Strategic Plan for Interpretation, Education and Volunteers, 2013-2016

National Park Service - Washington Office » New Strategic Plan for Interpretation, Education and Volunteers, 2013-2016 » Document List

We invite you to help us shape a new strategic plan for Interpretation, Education and Volunteers for the National Park Service. Today we are opening a public comment period for four weeks for multi-stakeholder input on the plan. The plan proposes a vision, four broad strategies, associated goals, and indicators of success. The expectation is that any part of the National Park Service engaged in interpretation, education, and volunteers will then define relevant actions to support implementation of the vision. The plan does not emphasize new spending in these leaner fiscal times; instead is intended to help us all make wise, future-oriented choices.

We are interested in gathering input from people like you—people from all program areas with diverse professional backgrounds and shared commitment to our parks and communities.
