The National Park Service proposes to construct a new, approximately 22,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art administrative and research facility within Everglades National Park that would serve the SFNRC (South Florida Natural Resources Center), SFCN (South Florida/ Caribbean Network), and FLC IPMT (Florida/Caribbean Invasive Plant Management Team) missions for the next 50 years and beyond. The new consolidated facility would provide a safe, secure work environment while meeting the needs of a highly specialized technical staff and their related equipment. This new consolidated facility should enable the various program teams to meet their current needs better, be flexible, provide for the anticipated growth, and plan for the continued evolution of these institutions and the modern work environment.
The proposed location for the new consolidated research facility is at the Bill Robertson Jr Center.
