The Superintendent of Canaveral National Seashore announces the availability of the draft Wildland Fire Management Plan (FMP) for public review.
Both fire and fire suppression have a significant effect on the Seashore's plant and animal communities. This important document addresses how the park will implement fire prevention measures, respond to wildland fires and utilize prescribed fire to reduce hazardous fuels and maintain a healthy, productive natural ecosystem.
It is critical to develop a plan which will provide for public safety, protect property and preserve the Seashore's outstanding natural and cultural resources. We look forward to receiving your comments.
