The National Park Service, Southeast Regional Director has approved the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Blue Ridge Parkway Trail Construction & Maintenance of 55 miles of the MTS Trail in the Highlands District. The FONSI has determined that there will be no significant environmental impacts that would occur by construction and maintenance of approximately 55 miles of the Mountains to Sea Trail between North Carolina State Route 321 and Air Bellows Gap Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The National Park Service has determined that the proposed project will not significantly affect the human environment within the project area; therefore, an environmental impact statement will not be prepared.
