Curry Village Stable, Install Feed Storage Container

Yosemite National Park » Curry Village Stable, Install Feed Storage Container » Document List

The purpose of this project is to prevent bear and other wildlife access to feed stored at the concessioner operated stable in Yosemite National Park. Feed is traditionally stored in locked wooden bins on the second story of the barn. Bears tear into the barn doors and climb the structure to access the feed bins.

DNC is requesting a 20' X 8' metal container be placed in a location within the existing footprint of the Valley Stables near the barn. The location is out of public view and installation does not require ground disturbance. The container is portable and can be transported on or off site with a tractor trailer. The container will be painted to match the surrounding structures.

A site visit was conducted with the park History, Architecture, and Landscapes branch to determine site location and appearance.
