Bridalveil Falls Vault Toilet Ventilation & Interior Lighting System Installation

Yosemite National Park » Bridalveil Falls Vault Toilet Ventilation & Interior Lighting System Installation » Document List

This project will provide for ventilation and interior lighting systems at the Bridalveil Falls parking lot vault toilet complex. This system includes installation of an exterior pole mounted thermoelectric generator and 100 gallon propane tank to be located behind, and concealed from view by, the existing vault toilet complex building. The pole mount requires a poured concrete base two foot deep by two foot square. The exact location of the pole will be determined during a site visit by the park historic architect.
A half-inch conduit for 12 volt direct current wiring will run at grade level from the pole base to the vault toilet building. The propane fuel tank 52 inches tall by 30 inches in diameter will be placed on a surface concrete pad at the pole base and strapped to the pole. All exterior system components will be painted dark brown or black. A secondary enclosure around the thermoelectric generator for additional heat protection and visual shielding will be considered if heat production becomes an issue.
Five inch diameter ventilation fans and six inch diameter motion switched LED dome lights will be installed inside each of the four stalls. Storage batteries and a charge controller will be installed inside the existing storage closets in the building.
