Tuolumne Meadows, Upgrade Shuttle Stop Signs

Yosemite National Park » Tuolumne Meadows, Upgrade Shuttle Stop Signs » Document List

The Tuolumne Meadows Shuttle bus stop signs along the Tioga Road from Olmstead Point to the Tioga Pass entrance station would be upgraded, as the signs are aged and have limited space for information. Signs would be consistent with the Yosemite Valley Shuttle sign design. Signs would display a routing map, time schedule, and other information as deemed necessary.
Because of the seasonal nature of the Tuolumne Meadows Shuttle, the signs would be built for easy removal. Steel frames would be attached to moveable pre-cast concrete blocks and placed at grade level. The signs would be installed each spring and removed each fall. This would prevent them from becoming damaged during the severe winter conditions. It would also allow for safe snow removal operations.
Special Considerations:
Ground disturbance is required, but it would be limited to the removal of existing sign posts and minor leveling of the surface for the placement of the concrete blocks.
The concessioner would consult with the park's Interpretation Manager and the Tioga Trailhead Project Leader about information displayed on the signs as well as where they would be located.
