El Portal John Sun Residence Rehabilitation

This project involves the rehabilitation of the existing failed roof and siding on a private residence located within the El Portal Administrative Site on Lot 15, also known as 9735 Rocky Road (see attached map, house site plan and photographs). The resident, Mr. John Sun, is requesting replacement of the failed roofing and siding. Compliance with insurance underwriters and Mariposa County building codes require him to use fire resistant materials.

The project involves the following:
•Replace existing wood shingle siding with a cement composite material.
•Replace existing shingled roof with a standing-seam steel roof.
•Add skylights and solar panels.
•As the structural components are revealed, it may be necessary to replace trusses or sections of the foundation to comply with current building codes.

There will be no change in the existing footprint or capacity.
