Per the recommendations of the FY17 collection condition survey that focused on metal objects, this project will hire a conservator to improve object housing conditions for objects in unstable condition. The survey recommended creating silica gel micro climates for the specialized housing of metal objects such as cannon balls and other objects particularly susceptible to deterioration in environments where the relative humidity fluctuates.
