The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park will install fifteen sign assemblies warning park visitors of hazards they may encounter in or near the Potomac River. Each assembly will have information in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. The signs will be located between Fletcher's and Seneca. Most signs will be located adjacent to the park's towpath at trailheads. The signs will be placed in previously disturbed areas.

This project has been reviewed for impacts to natural and cultural resources by the park's Interdisciplinary Team. The project does not pose any serious or long-term effects to environmental, historical, cultural, archeological, or visual resources. It meets Categorical Exclusion #C.5 - Installation of signs, displays, and kiosks.
