Moose-Wilson Corridor Comprehensive Management Plan
Grand Teton National Park » Moose-Wilson Corridor Comprehensive Management Plan
March 2026 Update: The National Park Service is revisiting the 2016 Environmental Impact Statement and Record of Decision for the Moose-Wilson Road project. This aligns with implementation of the July 3, 2025 Executive Order Making America Beautiful Again by Improving Our National Parks, which calls for improving visitor services, enhancing access, and reviewing policies that may unnecessarily restrict recreation in national parks.
The NPS is evaluating the alternatives in the EIS and Selected Action in the existing Record of Decision. Specifically, the NPS is re-evaluating the selected action to incorporate a separated multi-use pathway extending the length of the corridor and realign a segment of road, with a parallel pathway, between Sawmill Ponds and Death Canyon Road.
At this time, the focus is on evaluating the existing decision. Any future steps will be addressed following the evaluation. The NPS will provide updates as next steps are defined.
February 2017: The National Park Service (NPS) is pleased to announce that following a 30-day no action period, the Record of Decision (ROD) has been signed by the NPS Intermountain regional director for the Moose-Wilson Corridor Final Comprehensive Management Plan / Environmental Impact Statement (Final Plan/EIS). The ROD marks the completion of the EIS process and identifies the decision/selected action, including mitigation measures; describes other alternatives analyzed; identifies the environmentally preferable alternative; and includes rationale for the decision reached. We at the National Park Service value your interest in the Moose-Wilson corridor and look forward to implementing this plan with your continued engagement.
