The National Park Service (NPS) is in the initial stages of developing an environmental assessment for the construction of a parking area at Goodman Point Unit in Hovenweep National Monument. Prior to preparing an environmental assessment, the NPS is seeking public comment to help identify issues associated with the proposed plan.
An environmental assessment will be developed to evaluate a range of alternatives and strategies at HOVE for the construction of a new parking area at Goodman Point Unit and to ensure the monument's resources and values are protected. We will also include an assessment of effect on the cultural resources that are at Goodman Point Unit.
