A public planning process to develop a Reuse Implementation Plan / Environmental Assessment for the Cape Lookout Village National Historic Districtbegan in spring 2004. We asked for your initial thoughts, suggestions, and visions for the historic district at the public workshop held in April 2004. In January 2005 we returned with a range of alternatives and incorporated public comments into those alternatives after the public meetings. We have now prepared a Draft Cape Lookout Village Historic Structures Reuse Implementation Plan and Environmental Assessment that identifies a preferred alternative. You may view this draft plan on this website and submit any comments here. We will be conducting public meetings in conjunction with the public meetings on the commercial services plan on Wednesday, March 7th 2007, 7:00 PM to 9:00PM, at Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, and again on Thursday, March 8th, 7:00 PM to 9:00PM, at Duke Marine Lab Auditorium, Pivers Island. If you cannot attend these meetings, you may provide your comments through this website or by mailing them to:
