Remove London Plane tree stump in Legacy Garden after storm damage

Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Remove London Plane tree stump in Legacy Garden after storm damage » Document List

A dying London Plane tree broke off in a storm in January 2024 approximately 15' up from the ground. The remaining tree trunk is at least partially hollow and needs to be removed for safety reasons. The remaining part of the tree will be cut down and the stump ground out. Because this area is outside the cultural landscape but in the maintained landscape, the tree will not be replaced until the new landscape plan for the area is completed within the next year.
