New exhibits on some of the neighbors around Lincoln Home will be built and installed in the Corneau House (HS-02) located kiddy-corner SW from the Lincoln Home. The exhibits will be designed for youths aged 10-15 but will be available for all visitors. The approximately 1300 square feet of open floor space will house panels and wall screens with colorful cutouts of the people. There will be no historic artifacts in the exhibit. The exhibits are designed to be temporary, with changes made as additional information comes available on the people in focus or to change the focus to other neighbors.
When the Corneau House was restored in 2000-2002, the park GMP marked the house as an exhibit space. As such, sheets of plywood were installed under drywall in all exterior walls from approximately 2' up from the floor to 7' from the floor to allow the installation of exhibit panels. The top layer of subflooring was also created from new plywood to allow to attach panels to the floor where needed.
The current restroom and storage space/kitchenette in the building will be off-limits to visitors and locked.
