Paint Exterior of the Robinson House

Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Paint Exterior of the Robinson House » Document List

This project will consist of repairing and painting 5,370 square feet of exterior surface area on the historic Robinson House. This building was last painted in fiscal year 2016 and will need to be repainted by 2021-2023 to keep it on an appropriate cyclic schedule for painting. Surfaces to be painted include: 24 windows with trim and shutters, 3 doors with trim, siding, facia, soffit, all molding and brackets, gutters, downspouts and 360 square feet of porches. Repairs will be made as needed to the exterior of the structure. All surfaces to be painted will be prepared for painting by sanding and scraping. A primer coat will be put on any repaired spots, and two finish coats of exterior latex paint will be applied by brushwork to the entire structure. This project is slated to be done by contractors unless we have enough park staff to do in house. Will be based on project load vs. staff ratio.
