Conserve 50 Vulnerable Ethnological and Historic Objects in Museum Collection

Lewis and Clark National Historical Park » Conserve 50 Vulnerable Ethnological and Historic Objects in Museum Collection » Document List

The LEWI museum collection includes ethnological and historic materials relating to local indigenous peoples, Lewis and Clark, and early homesteaders. A Harper's Ferry Center objects conservator completed a Collection Condition Survey for these materials in 2013, providing baseline condition documentation and identifying vulnerable items needing conservation. The report assessed the urgency of the treatment need, prioritized the recommended conservation actions, and detailed cost estimates. This project will provide funding for conservation of 50 items in the museum collection. Object identified as in highest need by HFC conservator will be treated as funds allow.
