Battle of Franklin SRS Scoping and Public Meetings News Release

The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking public input to identify issues and additional information that will be needed to prepare a Battle of Franklin Special Resource Study.

The study is in the start-up or "scoping" phase of the project. The goal of this phase is to initiate public outreach as well as gather information on the related resources and the socioeconomic environment.

Two open house public meetings have been scheduled. The first meeting will occur from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at the Archives Building in Columbia, Tennessee. A second meeting will occur from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at the Franklin City Hall – Police Training Room, in Franklin, Tennessee.

Open House meetings are intended to provide an informal opportunity for NPS planners and stakeholders to share ideas and discuss the project in a relaxed atmosphere. There will be no formal presentation by the NPS. Members of the public are encouraged to stop by at any time during the 2 hour meeting.
