US Park Police Bicycle Storage Proposal Details

The proposed project includes the following measures: (1) install bicycle storage structures, either in the form of a shed or two side-by-side containers, on the turf area to the west of the substation, immediately south of the existing USPP evidence storage area (for confiscated property), outside of the drip lines of the two mature trees in this area (see enclosed plan view and photographs); (2) screen this structure and the adjacent USPP evidence storage shed with a hardwood screen or fence; and (3) extend the vegetation buffer along the north side of the parking lot so that it will block views of this maintenance area from visitors using the golf course to the north.

Staff believe that, with the screening as mitigation for visual impacts, this project will have a No Adverse Effect on the East and West Potomac Parks HIstoric District. NAMA is seeking concurrent with the State Historic Preservation Officer on this finding.
