Rehabilitation of Parkwide Water and Wastewater Systems Environmental Assessment

The NPS is proposing to improve or replace multiple potable water distribution and wastewater collection systems at key areas across the park. The environmental assessment evaluates a no-action alternative and one proposed action alternative, describes the environment that would be affected by the alternatives, and assesses the environmental consequences of implementing the alternatives. Under the no-action alternative, only routine maintenance and emergency repairs would occur and the aging water and wastewater systems would continue to deteriorate and possibly fail.

Under the preferred alternative, water and wastewater systems improvements would occur at multiple locations throughout the park.
