Notice of Intent and Notice of Preparation for SMMNRA Interagency TMP EIS/EIR


NOTE: The comment period for this document closed on April 1st. NPS and State Parks are now summarizing the comments and will post the summary report in May. The next opportunity for comment will be when the draft TMP EIS/EIR is released later this year.

NPS and State Parks, in cooperation with SMMC/MRCA, are preparing the environmental review document for the Trail Management Plan: an Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (EIS/EIR). The first public notification for an EIS is known as the Notice of Intent (NOI), published in the Federal Register. For an EIR, it is the Notice of Preparation (NOP), posted at the State Clearinghouse. Both Notices ask the public to identify issues and make suggestions for designing the alternatives for the EIS/EIR. The Notices for the Trail Management Plan EIS/EIR offer a 60-day period for the public to submit comments to NPS and State Parks.

Please note that all comments will be submitted to both NPS and State Parks; there is no need to submit comments separately for each agency. You can submit comments:
