Jaite Paper Mill - Engineering Evaluation Cost Analysis


The National Park Service (NPS) announces the availability for public review of documents comprising the updated Administrative Record File now including the Draft Final Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis Report (EE/CA) for the selection of removal action at the Jaite Paper Mill Site, located in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Brecksville, Ohio.

The EE/CA was prepared under the NPS authority derived from Section 104 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and is consistent with the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP). The purpose of the EE/CA is to describe the removal action objectives (RAOs), describe and evaluate the available alternatives for cleanup of the Site, and identify the recommended removal action for each area of concern. A final remedy selection will be made after the public comment period, taking into account any substantive comments that are received.

The National Park Service welcomes written comments from the public on the proposed removal action and on the Administrative Record File. The public comment period is open from December 7, 2020 through January 21, 2021.
