Zion Visitor Use Management Plan Preliminary Alternative Concepts

Dear Interested Public:

We've reached the next step in the visitor use planning process and we want to hear from you. Since public scoping we have been working on developing preliminary alternative concepts that are intended to address the impacts to park resources and the quality of visitor experience associated with the unsustainable growth in visitation. The preliminary alternative concepts were developed:

· from comments and other information gathered during public scoping;
· from the purpose and need for the plan;
· from the park's enabling legislation; and
· from the desired conditions identified in previous park plans.

Remember that these preliminary alternatives are not fully formed. Comments received through this comment period will help us refine the alternative concepts. Once the alternatives are more completely developed, the park will analyze the impacts of implementing the various alternatives. The alternatives and the analysis will be presented to the public in the draft plan and environmental assessment, scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2018.
