Everglades National Park Foundation Document

There are two Foundation Document products included below, the full report and a summary version, that communicates the park's core purpose and significance; important resources and values; critical interpretive and educational themes that frame the park's many compelling stories; and the laws, designations and policies that frame the park's mission. The Foundation Document will support current and future managers and staff by identifying key challenges and opportunities, as well as the important planning, research and monitoring needs. It will also help to effectively communicate a shared understanding of what's most important about the park within NPS, and among the public and partners in order to focus resources and efforts.

The Foundation Document is not a decision-making document and does not include specific actions or management strategies. Rather, it describes a shared understanding of what is most important about the park to focus on future management and planning decisions.
