Villages at Tule Springs Roadway/Utilities Crossings and the Tufa Trail

The NPS is interested in acquiring an existing easement from the City of North Las Vegas in order to prevent the development of a multi-lane roadway that would bisect the monument. In exchange, the City would obtain easements providing access and utilities to a planned community that is surrounded by NPS-managed land. The proposed exchange also includes construction of a trail that would provide visitors access to the monument in a manner that protects park resources.

The EA provides a decision-making framework that analyzes all reasonable alternatives to meet the objectives of the proposal, evaluates potential issues and impacts to resources and values, and identifies mitigation measures to lessen the degree of extent of these impacts.
