CE amending FONSI

The National Park Service (NPS) is amending the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Subsistence Uses of Horns, Antlers, Bones and Plants. In the FONSI, the Regional Director determined that written authorization from the NPS would be required to collect both animal parts and plant materials for making handicrafts for barter and customary trade. The NPS is amending the FONSI to exempt plant materials form this requirement. Because collecting plants for subsistence uses is already authorized by NPS regulations (36 CFR 13.485(b)), the NPS has decided to let the superintendent determine whether to require written authorization for collecting plants for making handicrafts for customary trade.

CE A.1 Changes or amendments to an approved action when such changes would cause no or only minimal environmental impact.
