Paterson Great Falls Draft General Management Plan/Environmental Assessment

Dear Friend,

Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park (NHP) has released its Draft General Management Plan / Environmental Assessment (Draft GMP/EA) for public review and comment.

Prepared over the last four years, this draft plan is intended to guide management of the park over the next 20 years. The draft plan presents different ways to reach a common vision of preserving resources, telling stories, and revitalizing and sustaining the park and adjacent neighborhoods. Together over the coming years, the NPS and partners would engage local residents, park visitors, and interested groups and organizations to make the plan's vision a reality.

I invite you to review the draft plan and share your thoughts with us and let us know how it addresses your aspirations for the future of the park. Perhaps you like one particular alternative or some combination of the alternatives or have a new idea that isn't presented in the draft plan. We want to hear from you and encourage your thoughts and opinions. Your thoughtful comments are important and will make a difference as the plan is finalized in the coming year. The comment period begins on January 6, 2016 and extends until March 6, 2016.

The National Park Service and the Paterson Great Falls NHP Advisory Commission will host a series of public open houses to provide information about the plan and listen to your comments. The first open house is on January 23, 2016 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Rogers Meeting Center, 32 Spruce Street in Paterson. Times and dates for additional meetings will be posted in the Meeting Notices on this website and advertised in local media, on the park's website (www.nps.gov/pagr) and on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PatersonGreatFalls.

Written comments submitted through this website are preferred. Please click the "Comment Now" tab on the left side of this webpage to submit your comments to three questions about the draft plan.

Please note that names and addresses of people who comment become part of the public record. Before including your address, phone number, email address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment, including personal identifying information, could be made publicly available.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the general management plan process. I appreciate your time and interest in helping to plan for the future of Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park.

Sincerely,

Darren Boch
Superintendent
