Accessibility Plan Press Release

The National Park Service is proposing to hold a public meeting to discuss Whiskeytown's plan to improve accessibility in all of the park's developed areas. There will be a brief presentation describing the planning process used to develop the draft Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. The input and feedback received from the public will help the park to improve its accessibility throughout the park. This plan resulted from the work of an interdisciplinary team to assist NPS staff in designing an effective plan to improve the park's accessibility by upgrading services, activities and rpograms at park areas and to instill a culture around universal access by employing means to convey information to the widest population possible and by prioritizing ongoing staff training.

The park will complete the required NEPA process once the public's input has been compiled and evaluated.
