Preliminary Assessment for SWMU#2 and SWMU #38- January 2014

The National Park Service contracted with Environmental Cost Management, Inc. (ECM) to conduct Preliminary Assessments (PAs) at two Solid Waste Management Units (SWMUs) in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. These investigations were performed to collect information concerning site background, operational history, and current environmental conditions at the sites sufficient to assess potential threats posed to human health and the environment and determine whether additional characterization is needed. The primary source of waste constituents reportedly associated with the SWMUs based on previous investigations is buried ash at SWMU #2 and burn pit debris at SWMU #38. Please see the attached PA for more information.
