The National Park Service is seeking public comment for an environmental assessment related to the rehabilitation of the Katherine Landing Access Road within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This 3.8-mile road is located approximately one mile north of Bullhead City, Ariz. Rehabilitation, reconstruction and resurfacing are proposed from the road's intersection with Davis Dam Road to the boat launch ramp at Katherine Landing Marina on Lake Mohave.

The NPS completed an assessment to analyze the effects of alternative methods of completing the project because the existing road suffers from poor pavement conditions, narrow travel lanes, rockfall hazards, inadequate drainage and heavy traffic volumes. Rehabilitation of the road would alleviate these problems, improving safety and offering a more desirable visitor experience.

The document is available online for review at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/lake, and comments may be submitted electronically. The document is also available on the park website and at area libraries. Written comments may be submitted to Lake Mead NRA, Attn: Compliance Office, 601 Nevada Way, Boulder City, Nev., 89005.

Comments must be received by April 18, 2013. Commenters should be aware that their entire comment, including personal identifying information, may be made publicly available at any time. While commenters can ask that their personal identifying information be withheld from public review, the NPS cannot guarantee that this will be possible.
