Potomac Interceptor Long-Term Odor Abatement Program

The National Park Service, in response to a project proposal from DCWASA (DCWATER), prepared an environmental assessment to evaluate the potential impacts to park resources and people pertaining to the construction and operations of four odor control facilities within NPS lands. The four units would be located in Maryland and the District of Columbia, within the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park and the George Washington Memorial Park (Clara Barton Parkway).

The environmental assessment was undertaken during October and September, 2002 with a Finding of No Significant Impact approved September 1, 2004. The review process predated the use of this website (PEPC). Both documents, however, have been attached to this website for public reference.
