Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial EA

The NPS, acting on behalf of the Eisenhower Memorial Commission, in cooperation with the National Capital Planning Commission and General Services Administration announces the availability of the EA for the proposed establishment of the Dwight D, Eisenhower Memorial for public review and comment. The proposed memorial would commemorate Dwight D. Eisenhower's military achievements, Presidential accomplishments, and lifetime of public service. The approved site for the Memorial is located in southwest Washington, D.C. and bound by the Department of Education Building, Independence Avenue, 4th Street, and 6th Street. The approximately 4-acre site is crossed by Maryland Avenue, and consists of several parcels that are currently administered separately by NPS, GSA, and the District of Columbia. The EA addresses the project background, the purpose and need for the Memorial, and analyzes four alternatives, including the no action alternative.

Public review copies of the EA will also be available for review at the National Capital Region Headquarters, 1100 Ohio Drive, S.W., Washington, D.C., 20242; and at National Mall and Memorial Parks headquarters, 900 Ohio Drive, SW, Washington, D.C., 20024.
