Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI)

The Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is a document approved by the Regional Director. The FONSI describes the purpose and need for the project, the selected alternative and other alternatives considered, mitigation measures to protect resources, and why the selected alternative will not have a significant effect on the human environment. The FONSI also describes the public involvement process and makes the determination that implementation of the selected alternative (Alternative B, New Route Single Track Construction) will not result in impairment of park resources or values.
