Partner Workshop Results - February 2010

Two Partners Workshop sessions were held at the Capital Park Visitor center in Baton Rouge on February 3, 2010. State and federal agencies and NGOs active in the area were invited to provide input on the management alternatives. As background for the workshop participants, National Park Service representatives shared the purpose of the heritage area and its management plan along with the interpretive themes and draft alternatives developed with the Atchafalaya Commission. Participants were invited to provide information on existing and planned efforts by their organization that align with the proposed alternatives as well as desired partnership opportunities. These inputs were gathered through two exercises.

An Open House was also held on February 4, where Parish representatives, Convention and Visitors Bureaus and the public were invited.
