Presentation of the proposed Chamizal Master Plan

This presentation was developed for the first public meeting regarding the proposed landscape master plan for Chamizal National Memorial. For many years Chamizal has worked with various entities to address issues related to irrigation and water management; the high salinity content in much of our soil; visual enhancement and park functionality as it relates to park users. With these issues in mind we requested the assistance of the Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) National Network which is a network of cooperative units established to provide research, technical assistance, and education to resource and environmental managers. The University of Arizona is a part of this network of highly experienced Universities. On the evening of September 8, 2009, University of Arizona presented a comprehensive approach to managing and developing the Chamizal. The program is led by Dr. Margaret Livingston, School of Landscape Architecture, College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, University of Arizona. Dr. Livingston was not present but the project lead Iylea Olson presented the Master Plan proposal and took questions. Iylea was accompanied by Olivia Alicea they both are students at the university.
