Castle Rock Cut Environmental Assessment

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) to address the potential impacts associated with deepening Castle Rock Cut by approximately 35 feet. This proposed action would permit boat traffic to use the cut when the lake elevation is 3,585 feet or higher, compared to its current availability at 3,620 feet. The EA also documents the alternatives identification and evaluation process, as well as public outreach and Native American consultation conducted to date.
