Finding of No Significant Impact Tassi-Gold Butte Herd Management Area Wild Burro Gather Plan

In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended , the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the National Park Service (NPS) prepared a joint Environmental Assessment (EA) (PEPC-124215, DOI-BLM-AZ-A030-2024-0009-EA) to disclose and analyze the environmental consequences of implementing wild burro gather operations within the project area. The project area is solely within Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument (GCPNM), which is cooperatively managed by the BLM and the NPS. The project includes a combination of ongoing population inventories and burro gathers, using various methods, to move the project area toward desired conditions (as described in Section 1.3 of the EA) on both BLM and NPS lands. In total, both BLM and NPS portions of the project include approximately 424,913 acres.

Based on the analysis in the EA, NPS and BLM selected the Proposed Action Alternative.
