Liberty Square Proposed Dock Rehabilitation
Proposed improvements to the Liberty Square dock include electrical and plumbing upgrades, security improvements, replacement of dock railings, and reconfiguration of the gangway ramp which provides access to vessels transporting visitors to Fort Sumter.
After considering three options for reconfiguration of the gangway ramp, the NPS has selected the preferred design. The NPS is seeking comments on the selected design, which is available for review using the link on this page. Public comments will be accepted from January 16, 2024, through February 15, 2024. Comments can be submitted via this website.
The public is also invited to attend a virtual public meeting on Wednesday January 24, 2024. Staff from the NPS will provide information about the proposed project and be available to answer questions. The meeting will begin with a presentation at 6:30 pm (Eastern Time), followed by a question-and-answer session. The meeting presentation and transcript will be posted to the project website following the event.
Please note that your entire comment, including your personal information, may be made publicly available at any time. You can request that we withhold your personal identifying information from public view, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
