Public Review of a Draft NPS Alaska Region Parks Section 106 PA


The National Park Service (NPS) invites public consultation with review of and comment on a Programmatic Agreement (PA) between the NPS Interior Region 11 - Alaska and the Alaska State Historic Preservation Officer (AK SHPO). The draft PA was developed per the NPS 2008 Nationwide Programmatic Agreement which encourages NPS parks to develop Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act supplemental agreements as appropriate.

The proposed PA, developed in consultation with NPS staff, AK SHPO, Tribes, and other interested parties, will provide parks the ability to streamline Section 106 reviews for certain types of activities that have a low potential to affect historic properties (see draft PA Stipulation IV).
