LEWI Parkwide Trail Maintenance (Programmatic CE 2022-2026)


Lewis and Clark National Historical Park manages and maintains over seventeen miles of pedestrian trails and approximately 1.75 miles of trail also open to bicycles. Trail users vary from unplanned one-time interpretive tours to frequent recreational use by local residents. These trails are continuously subjected to the effects of use, erosion, vegetation encroachment, and weather events. Routine and recurring (i.e. weekly, monthly, annually) maintenance in needed to keep these park assets in good operating condition and safe for park visitors and staff. The National Park Service will conduct routine and recurring maintenance of park managed trails throughout the year for five years (2022-2026). The work would be confined to park designated trails and ground disturbance, outside of previously disturbed areas, is not anticipated:
